Strategic Partnerships and International Cooperation

Osh State University is actively developing its infrastructure and strengthening its educational foundation. In recent years, more than 32 academic buildings, dormitories, and other facilities have been modernised, not only enhancing the university’s capacity but also contributing to the architectural landscape of the city of Osh.

OshSU holds a leading position in international cooperation. The university collaborates with 325 universities across 33 countries, including the USA, Spain, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, China, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and others. These partnerships are based on bilateral agreements and include academic mobility, joint educational programmes (including dual degrees), guest and online lectures, international projects, and collaborative research.

OshSU holds a "special status" alongside 11 other public universities in the Kyrgyz Republic, granting it financial and administrative autonomy, including the authority to develop its own educational standards. With aspirations for global recognition, the university ranked 260th out of 984 top Asian universities in the prestigious QS World University Rankings and is among the top 13 universities in Central Asia.

OshSU has been awarded 4 stars in the QS Stars rating by the leading global organisation QS Quacquarelli Symonds, earning a place among the world’s “four-star universities.” Additionally, in the IAAR Eurasian University Ranking (IAAR EUR) – 2024, Osh State University secured 2nd place, placing it among the top three universities in the Eurasian region.

In the first-ever National Ranking of Higher Education Institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic, OshSU was ranked in the top five, earning a score of 415.84 points.

International Programmes and Academic Opportunities

Dual Degree Programmes

Osh State University is actively implementing large-scale initiatives in joint education. The university has signed agreements with universities in Kazakhstan and China across 32 academic disciplines and has developed curricula for joint study programmes. Currently, dual degree programmes are being implemented in 22 fields.

Particular attention is given to the accreditation of international academic programmes. The Professional Bookkeeper and Certified Accountant programmes offered by the Faculty of Business and Management are accredited by the International Association ACPM, enabling students to obtain dual diplomas — from both OshSU and ACPM (UK).

Academic Mobility

Each year, around 1,000 students and 500 academic staff participate in international academic mobility programmes, including Erasmus+, Mevlana, ITEC, DAAD, Orkhun, SCO, the "Osh Declaration", and others. The university is a proactive initiator of both internal and external mobility.

Student Support and Digital Transformation of Education

The university rewards student achievements through various scholarships and incentives:

  • Presidential scholarships
  • Named scholarships (up to USD 1,200)
  • Academic Council scholarships
  • Awards for winners of Olympiads, festivals, and competitions
  • Financial assistance for students in need (over 5 million soms annually)

OshSU is actively implementing digital technologies: all key processes — from admission to graduation — have been transitioned to digital formats. The educational process is managed via the MyEdu platform, which is based on the principles of academic freedom. By 2026, all university systems will be fully integrated into the "Electronic Campus" — an automated corporate data ecosystem.

Programmes Accredited by ACPM

Based on the analysis and evaluation of the Professional Bookkeeper and Certified Accountant educational programmes at Osh State University, the expert commission of the Association of Certified Professional Managers (ACPM) concluded that these programmes meet modern international requirements and accreditation standards.

The programmes demonstrate a high level of academic quality, professional orientation, and an innovative approach to education.

As a result of the accreditation process, both programmes were awarded the Advanced Quality Mark.
