The ACPM: Career Consultant – Veteran project, launched by ACPM Ukraine in partnership with Booster&Development, has reached an important milestone — the awarding of the first certificates to participants of the programme.
This specialised educational initiative was created in response to the real challenges veterans face during their transition to civilian life. The programme addresses psychological, social, and professional aspects of adaptation, including the transformation of military experience into a competitive advantage in the job market.
Who was the training designed for?
The programme was tailored for:
- Veterans and military personnel transitioning to civilian careers
- Veteran support specialists with military service experience
- Officers of veteran organisations
The training was structured into three stages:
Foundation Course
Participants were introduced to the basics of career counselling in the veteran context. They explored techniques such as SWOT, GROW, STAR, learned how to build a client profile, assess motivation, and convert military experience into civilian competencies.
Advanced Course
At this stage, consultants developed practical skills for working with veterans — from adapting communication styles and addressing emotional wellbeing to mapping competency development using the CREDO model. The course also covered PTSD support, DISC communication styles, and planning both group and individual consultations.
Practical Preparation for Veteran Employment
The focus here was on employment strategies: writing CVs, building career plans, and preparing for workplace adaptation. During the post-training period, participants worked with real-life cases and developed their own career consultant portfolios.
“This programme is not only about skills — it’s about support and transformation. We teach participants to see the potential for growth and new career paths behind military service,” said representatives from Booster&Development.
All graduates received international ACPM certificates, confirming their professional readiness to support veterans at every stage of their career journey.
